Baby Brother Update

Two weeks ago I had my final sonogram. Here's the picture we got to take with us. In case you need some help deciphering the picture, it's a picture of his face. You can see his two eyes and the bones of his nose. Also, you can kind of see his teeth, but remember they're still underneath his gums. At least I hope so.

It was a pretty neat sonogram. We got to see the baby open his mouth and stick out his tongue. The doctor said he weighed about 4.3 lbs and that he would probably be bigger than Bethany was. She was only 6 lbs 3 oz, so a little bigger won't be too bad. I just hope it's not a lot bigger. Everything was measuring normal. Now we only have about 5 more weeks to wait.

A House, a Bed, and VBS

Here's a picture journey through the past few weeks.

A friend of ours found this playhouse at a garage sale for $20. Bethany has really enjoyed it.She even has a kitchen. We need to find some cheap dishes to keep out here.Her first visitor. The white wall swings open, so I can pull up my chair and sit with her. That's really nice, because mommy definitely can't crawl into this house.

We had quite the time with Bethany's new bedroom set. After three trips to JC Penney's we finally had all the boxes. Bethany made sure to repeatedly tell Daddy and Aunt Manna that the dresser was was heavy as they were carrying it up the stairs. I'm sure it made it feel much lighter.

Her new mirror on her big girl dresser.The big girl bed all put together. Bethany was so excited about this bed because I had been talking it up for months. That night when she was going to sleep in it the first time, she was having second thoughts. She told Shane, "Daddy, take this apart and put together my crib. And . . . take this bed apart and put together my crib." She cried for a little bit and got out of bed twice. I put her right back in bed and didn't talk to her just like Supernanny says. Ever since then she's done great. She even waits for us to come get her when she wakes up.
One day she told me that if she got out of bed then Mommy would just put her right back in. She then started telling me this story about how she would get out of bed and come out to me and say, "How 'bout it?" She's got quite the imagination.


We had VBS a couple of weeks ago. Bethany had fun, but it was from 6:30-8:30 at night. By the end of the week, she was getting pretty tired. She loved the singing time with Daddy. Here she is doing some of the motions from one of the songs.Shane started calling the kids up to sing with them towards the end of the week. Bethany had to stand up with the big girls that were leading the motions. She follows right along.

Another Trip to the Zoo

We went to the zoo a couple of weeks ago with my friend, Angie, and her two kids, Trevor and Clara. Bethany loves all three of them, and is always so excited when we get to spend time with them. Aunt Amanda came too, which was a big help since we were really focused on potty training. All that squatting and lifting up Bethany really does a number on me sometimes.

Bethany would follow Trevor anywhere. I love how she's copying him here.

I love how close you can get to the lions, so I took a little video just to show all my loyal blog readers.

We went to Culver's for lunch afterwards and had some more fun. Bethany loves to go there. She even requested we eat lunch there two days later. I don't think she could ever get enough Culver's.
