This is the second update today, so make sure you go down and read the other one.
We had a really fun Halloween. Bethany definitely got the whole idea of Halloween this year. Halloween = Candy! We'll still have to work on the "Trick or Treat" part for next year. She could say 'trick or treat'. But when we would go up to somebody new, she wasn't really in a very talkative mood. It takes her a little bit to warm up to people. She would always give people a very enthusiastic bye-bye when we leaving because by that time, she was ready to talk.
I should back up to the beginning of this week to really get our full Halloween story. Bethany has been getting her canine teeth. These have been the worst so far with all of the teething symptoms: runny nose, fever, etc. So in the middle of this week hers eyes started running too. We figured it was just another part of the teething. Well it kept getting worse until we had to accept the truth: Bethany had pink eye. The poor girl's eyes were so swollen and red. We managed to take her to a friend who is a doctor Thursday night, so we could get some medicine started as soon as possible. I'm so glad we did because she was feeling tons better yesterday. Her eyes were still a little red, but at least they weren't almost swollen shut. So the pink eye tried to stop us from having a good Halloween, but Bethany came out the victor.
Yesterday afternoon, we went to Shane's office to go trick-or-treating. They have such a great set-up because you just go from cubicle to cubicle. It's so safe and you don't have to worry about the weather. Bethany thought it was okay at first. She liked putting the candy in her bag; she loves playing with containers. But once we let her eat a sucker, she was all about getting more candy. Amazingly she wasn't up until midnight last night. She actually feel asleep pretty close to bedtime. Today she went right for her candy bag not too long after breakfast. I then moved all her candy to a bowl on the counter. It didn't take her long to find that. So after she ate lunch, I told her she could have one piece. You should have seen her studying that bowl. She thought about it for quite some time then finally decided on a sucker. I was amazed at how she followed directions. I shouldn't be though, she's been very good about that lately.
She was very helpful with Mommy's pumpkin. You can kind of see her swollen right eye here.

She noticed that the pumpkins had candles in them and was trying to blow them out.
For the evening hours we went to our church where the youth group was handing out candy to the neighborhood kids. They kept giving candy to a stray cat that was wondering around too. Oh wait, that was my daughter.
